The doctor’s secretary will work the same days
as their doctor.
Telephone calls are only taken by the secretaries between 8.30am -
12.30pm and 2.30pm - 5.00pm.

Our Practice Manager oversees the day-to-day administration and
smooth running of the practice. She is available to answer any
queries regarding the running of the practice.
Sarah, who oversees the computer room, also assists the Practice
Manager.

Our Practice Nurses can be seen by appointment
and offer a variety of services including:
- Injections
- Adult hearing checks
- Ear syringing
- Dressings (including wound
management)
- Blood pressures checks
- Travel advice/vaccinations
including yellow fever

- Removal of stitches
- Cervical smears
- Health checks
- ECG’s
- Blood tests
- Cryotherapy

They also work closely with the GPs in managing
chronic illnesses including asthma, heart disease and diabetes.
Travel Vaccinations
Our practice nurses offer foreign travel advice and immunisations.
Please contact your doctor’s secretary to make an appointment with the
nurse approximately eight to ten week before departure. It is essential
you collect and fully read the Travel Information Leaflet prior to your
appointment. Payment will be required for some travel vaccinations.
Please ensure you bring a history of past immunisations, your cheque
book or cash when you attend your appointment.
Community Nurses
The District Nurses in the team provide nursing care, support and advice
to patients and families in their home.
They are based at the Chalfont Health Clinic and can be contacted
there or via your Doctor’s secretary. Telephone 01753 888835.
Health Visitors
The health visitors, Hilary Slater, Rose Shimwell and Jane Brodrick, are
based at the Chalfont Health Clinic. They offer help and advice to young
families on issues such as feeding, behavioural problems and parenting
skills.
Community Midwife
The Community Midwife, Kate Loach, shares the antenatal care of all
mothers before and after delivery. She holds a twice-weekly antenatal
clinic on Monday and Thursday afternoons at Calcot with appointments
booked via your Doctor’s secretary.
Community Dietitian
Liza Mason, the Community Dietician, visits the practice once a month.
